The story of Ginger

Ginger was at the shelter for one and a half years!
Last year a man rescued a terrier from the street. It had turned out that it already had an owner and so the terrier was returned. The man who rescued the terrier decided to adopt another dog from Aradippou Dog Shelter and so he took Ginger.
Ginger was a strange dog, she didnt like men from the start. She was adopted by two families but she bit the owners and so she was returned to the shelter twice!  Two days after Ginger was adopted someone from the shelter called the third person who adopted her who said that he microchiped her and registered her at veterinary database, took her to a vet and vaccinatted her, and bought her clothes and a bed.  A week later we called him again in order to check if everything was ok with Ginger but he said that Ginger didnt obey him, and to teach her a lesson he tied her on an electric poll in the middle of the highway and left her there to scare her and make her behave!
So a volunteer drove up to Agia Napa and took Ginger back.
As there was no place at the shelter, the volunteer took her home with her for a couple of days. Ginger was scared and phycologically  traumatized from the incident. A few days later the volunteer took her to the shelter, and in a day a family turned up and took Ginger.
they came to my office to transfer the dog to their name, and five months Five months later...Ginger ...a happy little thing...  (Oct 2011)

Above, Flouflis. Lambrador mix. 1 year old- very friendly with dogs and people!!! Was Adopted at Aradippou Dog Shelter in April 2011.

Andraki- yorkshire terrier- male. (about 2 yrs old)- Allergic to fleas. Needed urgently a home and got one in April 2011!

These puppies that were dumped at the shelter in May 2011 have already found a home

During Christmas 2010 there were a lot of cases of abandoned and wounded dogs in Larnaca area. Christos, President of ACS took all of them to various cliniques in Larnaca and Aradippou.

These are just a few  examples of  rescues of dogs in one day (january 18,2010)

Collected a dog (mama) with 5 puppies from Liopetri vilage. She was in a field in cold and rain with her puppies. Thanks to a good neighbor who noticed and fed the dogs they are safe in the shelter.

Collected a cat 3 months old from a lady who found it sick in the streets of Larnaca

A lady is coming to adopt a puppy @ 15:00 :)

Desperate to secure the shelter from rain and cold. This week will be very hard to all of us! It will be very cold and rainy!

- Leo found a home in one day!

Dear friends,
I am sending you the picture of a dog found in a bad state, but as you see, I took very good care of him. Can you circulate the photo in case we find someone to adopt it?

Leo (white one) was saved about 4 weeks ago.
He was very thin, and badly looked after (with a metal collar and spikes in it).
He was taken home, cleaned up and fed. The previous owner wanted to kill him.
 
We've been patient with the animal and loved him but he cannot stay because he has a tendency to be aggressive with my other dog, a black Labrador puppy.
 
I want him to go to a home that will care for him.  I don't want him put to be put to sleep...
He is a lovely dog that unfortunately has not been cared for by irresponsible people who just "liked the way he looked".
I don't know how old he is, but he is lovely, as long as there are no other dogs.
He won't bite or be aggressive with his owners.
 
I'm sad that he has to go but we have an immediate problem with the Labrador, it's unfair on the puppy.

A dog found today in Larnaca was taken to the farm of Toulla-a member of our Committee. (July 24, 2009)

A Half Breed Huskey that was found almost dead on the beach a few days ago was taken to Vet Savvas by one of our members in Aradippou for three days and was rehomed to a house by an english cypriot man. (July 23 2009)

A cat with problems at Palm Beach hotel was taken by Christos-our President for treatment to vet Savvas in Aradippou. (July 23 2009)
